Aquaponics and Hydroponics are both soilless crop production methods using a close-loop system, with Aquaponics incorporating the production of fish (aquaculture).  These novel production systems are economically viable in premium markets where crop values are high as they present a significantly faster pay-back on investment. In addition, they are perfect for the hobby grower, who has limited access to good quality soils, but personally values the importance of a reliable source of fresh produce.
